Client's concern

A Hong Kong-based garment manufacturer operating in Tay Ninh province was considering relocation to a newly developed industrial zone in Tra Vinh due to rising operational costs and labor shortages. The client needed clarity on land purchasing risks, ownership structures, and legal procedures in Vietnam.

Our approach

We delivered a targeted research study covering (a) risk assessments on industrial land acquisition – flood history, ownership disputes, seller background checks, contract red flags; (b) evaluation of ownership structures including direct foreign ownership, setup through a new or existing Vietnamese company, and tax implications; (c) step-by-step guidance on industrial land acquisition procedures for foreign investors.

Outcome

A detailed report addressing every client concern, equipping them with the legal, procedural, and strategic insights needed to manage risks and proceed with relocation.
